Looking for those who have experience with flying the old FSI motors, mainly the D18 and D20.I'm converting a Viking 1 kit to 18mm motors and I would like to know which of the new motors would be comparable to them if any.I've been told the Quest QJet D16 and D20 would be a good fit.I have no experience with these, so can they be ignited with standard Estes starters or is something different needed?

I personally would use a conductive igniter with Kynar wire.

Not familiar with Kynar wire, what is it exactly?
Brand name 26, 28, and 30 gauge PTFE coated wire that is commonly used in aviation. If you ever visit our launches in SC, I will give you a few.

The Q-Jets come with their own igniters. The Estes starters won't reach up to the composite propellant and may not be energetic enough even if they could reach.
