Old flying toy

I need some help with identifying a early toy/kite I had when I was a kid. Late 60s early 70s period toy had a fuselage that was more flat than oval in shape.the front and back came almost to a point.

String was attached middle ways of lower fuselage just like a kite. Fuselage was about 2 feet long.

The 2 wings were about 1 foot each.There was a metal rod that went through the fuselage and the wings were attached to the rod To gain lift the 2 wings rotated on the rod. I think it was called a "space plane " kite ?

I thought I had seen every kind of flying toy, but I have never seen anything like this.

That looks like it. To bad no open box .I remember flying it so much the wings screeching as they rotated drove the neighbors nuts

Yup - we had those as well though ours made more of a high-pitched hum rather than a screech.

The screeching was after the hum to let you know where the metal rod and wing rotated was wearing a grove in the metal. Would have been better to have had small bearings at that attachment point

Mine definitely did not come with rod and reel
