Well, it had to happen.

I was a little ruched on this but I finished it up today...HEY! Just it time for NARAM!!!

In the beginning...there were tubes and balsa parts. He looked upon the void and said..."Wait a minute this isn't right...it needs a different nose cone!"

So I (He) looked throught the variuos web pages for something different and said "Eureka!"

here are the nose cone parts turned cut and ready to assemble.

And it was good!

After assembly of the various nose cone parts I did some final shaping.

I like the way this turned out!

Here it is next to the original 2:1 ogive Deuce's nose cone.

All the parts assembled and the booster is complete.

It may need some nose weight...not sure yet.

A closeup shot of the finished nd decaled nose cone...Orbiter.

The finished X-20 with it's Titan II Deuce's Wild booster.

She's ready for her maiden flight Saturday at NARAM!

Sand..she's ready!!!

umm.... can you post a better pic of it please?

Here is one last shot.

I'm sorry but it's the best my camera can do.

Carl, take a better picture of it at NARAM. See you there!

that is sweet Sandman...Now if only I could go to NARAM to see it :(

Sandman,

That is too cool!! Can't wait to see a launch pic! Way to go!

I have always liked seeing people turn rockets into scale-like-things. This is the best one yet. Too cool.

That is awesome! I'll be able to see that in person on Sunday. I'll be sure to take some pics too!:)

These were the alternate nose cones.

Sorry about the pic.

Well, I took some launch pics but I used a cardboard camera and don't have 'em developed yet.

There are a lot more out there but the guys hav't posted them yet.

Go here to see some pics. I'm the really good looking guy in the red "Der Red Max" shirt.

Oh...BTW...She flew great!!

sandman

I do like that - very much!

Are you going to make it available as a kit?

- and will you ship to the UK?

I may have to succumb and finally get myself a 'Deuce to go with it!

Damage...

I didn't do ANYTHING different on the Deuce. Just the nose cone and paint job.

I could probably make the nose cone parts up as a kit

Not too hard really.

I'd be happy to ship it to the UK.

Matt

you read my mind...;)

Thanx for the review of the VMX on EMRR by the way! Send me an email with your address and we'll send you a new nosecone and noseweight (he forgot to fasten it on people!)

Sandman - Thanx I'd really like to have a nosecone kit! I'll send you an email to arrange shipping - wanna suggest a price for the nosecone kit here in case anyone else wants one?

BTW... do you have a pic of a concept that Werner von Braun did of a winged nosecone/spacecraft for a Disney programme in the 60s? It looked like our Spaceplane perched atop of a bottle shaped rocket. I think it could be something we could combine our VMX with some of your modelling expertise for an outstanding project.

Damage...

Well, I'm guessing about $8 for all the parts. That would be for the Deuce's Wild BT-60 body tube.

I'll make patterns for the wings and fins too.

It does take a little sanding and shaping to fit it together.

A little filler too doesn't hurt.
