I'm having trouble finding a high power launch within 3 hours drive of jacksonville florida. Does anybody know of a functional club in the area? I would be willing to settle for a place that I could safely fly midpower in northeast florida without needing a club. As of right now I can find nothing active. NEFAR is not active and all emails and calls go unanswered.

I’ve tried contacting them over the years via email & rarely get a response. For what it’s worth, NEFAR just announced on Facebook they have a new field and are planning on having a club meeting May 5th, probably in Bunnell.

High guys.....a bit farther but it's 3 days over Memorial Day weekend.

Freedom Launch in Camden SC the old Orangeburg crowd. We moved Freedom Launch from Labor day to Memorial Day this year hoping for much better weather = more fun.
Ya'll are invited to shake off your lack of flying blues. Cheap hotels and grub abound. If interested I can post more details for you or there is/will be, more notice under "Launches" thread soon. Spread the word to fellow flier's needing a rocket "fix".
I'm prefect and we'll have some good old fashion fun.....I garaaaan-teeee.

NEFAR has a very active Facebook site, see https://www.facebook.com/groups/465675843542989/. It seems they have found a new field and are finalizing details, let's hope it works out.

Other than NEFAR, SRA, which currently has the best field in Florida, has an HPR launch this Saturday in Palm Bay, 3 hours from Jax, see https://www.facebook.com/groups/srapalmbay/. ROCK has a launch scheduled for May 4 in Oviedo, 2.4 hours from Jax (no HPR), see SRA, https://www.r-o-c-k.org/.

There's a rumor that there will soon be a new club with a huge new field on the north end of Lake Okeechobee. Hope it's true.

Once or twice a year there is the GRITS launch in Tifton, GA, about 2.5 hours from Jax, see https://www.gritslaunch.com/about/

Join the NEFAR Facebook group and you can keep up to date on the new field and when launches will resume. A lot of us from the Jax area are driving down to Palm Bay (SRA) this Sat to launch, they have a great field and worth the almost 3 hour drive.

NEFAR has a tentative new launch site, meeting this Saturday to discuss, see https://nefar.net/

We are still go for our meeting this Saturday (5/4), at 11am. Highjackers is located at 202 Airport Rd Palm Coast, FL 32164

We will be meeting in the room in the back.

First, we will have an election of officers.
We will then have a discussion of the launch site as well as tasks that need to be accomplished. The discussion will include:
Pros/Cons of new site, finances, launch schedule, facilities, trailer repair, trailer future, equipment, battery charging, identification of any issues that need to be addressed. See you there.

Sorry it took so long to get back a family member got married on Saturday so there was zero chance of making it to that. Also I'm finding nothing on facebook for NEFAR and the link shared above goes to a facebook page that was taken down or is deactivated.

NEFAR facebook page has been turned into a closed group. Access now is by invitation only as far as I know. NEFAR club was too big and the new club officers are trying to keep attendance down. If you want more info, try contacting club officers from NEFAR website.

Except they have never responded to my emails. It's like a club that only sort of exists in theory. Its Schrodingers club!
