I just watched "Man In Space" episode of Disney's Tomorrowland.
It had lots of sounding rockets at the beginning. One that caught
my eye was a Nike variant. It had the Nike top stage (large delta
lower fins, small deltas on top), but the booster was something
completely different. Short body length, very large rectangle fins.
The root edge was the whole length of the the booster. Any one
have an idea what this rocket was, and what it was used for?

Reminiscent of a music-oriented game-show.......

"I can name that rocket with one picture"

Unfortunately, I can't find a pic of it. My computer
just wont play Disney dvds, so I can't screen capture.
I've been to many Nike web sites, but no luck. From
the large size of the booster fins, I think it must be
a prototype. Of the change from the Ajax to the Hercules.

Do you have a digital camera???
Play your DVD on a TV connected player set-up, pause the frame when needed, and take a digital photograph off the screen.
Lights in the room turned off to cut down on extra reflections.
It works really nice if you've got a flat screen TV.

The early Ajax test rounds had HUGE booster fins on shorter-than-normal motor casings.
Most likely Tiny-Tim motors as the Nike motor wasn't ready yet.
