Ever since I dug out my Roachwerks kit and finished it, I seem to be into all Nike Ajax and Hercules. Today I received this Freedom Models kit...looks like it might be awesome!
Coincidentally I was working on the 1/14 Boyce Nike Ajax this morning. But I also have the 2 sizes 1/24 and 1/14 kits from Boyce Aerospace coming which will fly. They are 3d printed all composite material. Anyone ever build one of those?
Probably should have never sold mine, but realistically, I don't think I'd ever have gotten around to building it. Sure does look cool tho...My Launch Pad Nike Ajax has been a great flier for years. Love the 3 Mylar chutes that it comes down under!View attachment 447040
The original Estes model was 18mm, but it was an easy upgrade to 24mm. Flies great on D12 BP motors.Ok I see its 24mm!![]()
I built both of the Boyce kits. They were fun to build. Here is my version of the Ajax.Deeman is that 18mm or 24mm...nice! Kuririn I'd like to see the Boyce Nike Ajax when finished. I was going to get one of those too if the Boyce Hercules work out. Obsessed!!![]()
Awesome!!Looking through some of my photos and remembered this.
Black Rock LDRS about 1990.
If my mind hasn't failed, I think it went on 4 K motors.
The guy in the light colored shirt is Ron Schultz of LOC, I can't remember the other guys name.
Sucks being 70+
Was it Pat Floyd??Looking through some of my photos and remembered this.
