That's the South Dakota museum right? I was stationed at Ellsworth in the '70's. I was asleep a block and a half away from the total washout of the Rapid City flood.
That's a beautiful example of an Ajax. Might take you up on that offer. I recall that there's an AGM-28 Hound Dog there too that looks really nice. That's always been tempting. BTW I've scraped your picture for my collection.
All of my Nike Ajax data is here, in a dropbox folder. No guarantees that link won't change, I'm still organizing things there. Any additions are welcome.
I let my paid Dropbox account expire a few months ago. Let me get it sorted out and I'll get a link up hopefully in a few days. I gotta renew my SW license sometime too.The link is no longer working. Could you re-establish the link? I would like to redo the model in SolidWorks.
Thanks,
Keith
Thinking about practical Nike Ajax builds. Put some stuff into a spreadsheet with available tube sizes and popular modeling scales:
For the available tube combinations, the first 'Scale' column is the scale determined by the Nike booster tube, with all scale error then in the Ajax tube. Using the 'adjusted scale' column, I can adjust the scale slightly to distribute the error between the Nike and Ajax. In most cases, the error can be made less than 1% using common body tubes. The forum doesn't seem to preserve spreadsheet formatting very well; my worksheet looks better than this. |
Do you still have Nike Hercules data available? Just found this while looking for Ajax data. After much thrashing about, it looks like my Nike data is on Google Drive. The following links should work:
Nike Hercules Scale Data
Nike Ajax Scale Data
While I may still update the data under those links, the folder links should be stable at least for the next year.
