Has anyone else seen the previews for this show? The idea is that we will see Sheldon Cooper (The Big Bang Theory) as a child growing up with his family and going to school. I have seen several previews and so far none of them have been the slightest bit funny. This looks like total crap.

You're right, total crap, not funny, no interest whatsoever.

BBT started out with jokes This Nerd could Laugh With.

Soon it became jokes that Laughed At Nerds.

I will faithfully not watch this 'spinoff', which I can only assume will be a story of why Nerds Should Be Mocked.

When I saw previews to TBBT "coming to TBS" I couldn't have been more disinterested. Then I got to watching it and it became one of my favorite shows. Still watch it faithfully.

But a spinoff - no. Don't think that will be "really cool train" to jump on.

It's coming out of Hollywood.

You expect something that isn't crap?

Not too likely.

Just read a preview of the show in the paper. It seems young Sheldon has a younger brother and sister that are twins. Ok folks, Sheldon has a twin sister named Missy. So they can't even do an semi accurate spinoff.

They ought to do "Senior Sheldon," featuring Sheldon at age 65, starring...

I watched the show last night, and I thought it was quite good. It will be interesting to see how well it holds up during the rest of the season. I found that I could identify with some of the things that young Sheldon experienced while growing up. That's one of the reasons I like Big Bang in the beginning. I knew guys at college that were like Sheldon, Leonard and Howard. The series kind of fell apart for me when they all got girlfriends and started getting married.

I liked "Me, Myself, & I". Past, present (Bobby Moynihan), and future (John Larroquette) versions of the same guy. Not a time-travel show BTW, sort of more like flashbacks and flash forwards.

If you missed it, try to catch an online repeat of it, since the pilot episode lays the foundation. The above link works for seeing that episode.

And nice to see Jaleel White playing a non-annoying character (used to be "Urkel").

Episode 1 is also available on the CBS app (which is generally useless and designed to lure you into subscribing to CBS All Access).

I will watch it on the treadmill when I have WiFi.
