Looks like I’ll be getting one as a Father’s Day present! No not the Ulysses space probe, just the shuttle😂.

Missed out on Ulysses too one if the guys in my LEGO club scored one though. Brickset.com had a couple articles on the mess it was. Heard a roumor. That the production run was less than 3k.

Best bet now for Ulysses is probably going to be waiting until some kind soul scans and uploads the instructions and parts list and bricklink all the pieces. It doesn't look like it had any unique components aside from the plaque decal, and I can live without that.

My brother bought two of these. Gave me one and he is currently building his on a table next to me, He is currently finishing up bag 14. Looks quite impressive but think I will wait till I get home to build mine :)

Just bricklinked all the parts for the prettier MOC. Thank you very much, @mjennings. I'll let everyone know if it fits in the payload bay once it's built.
You're welcome. It looks like it should. I haven't dug into into buying parts yet how much was your Bricklink order if you don't mind?

It was about $70. A fair chunk of that was shipping from five different sellers.

I could have gotten everything from two stores but the shipping from Germany was over $60. I would advise restricting your store searches to your own continent.

Thanks. I usually do. Had a friend by parts from Russia va while back. Shipping wasn't terrible but it sure did take it's time getting to him.

Separated out the parts listing -- any errors are definitely due to sunspots.

Back with my promised report. I built the Ulysses MOC and it is super nice, definitely superior to the official one. You have to pop the sideways antenna piece off and turn the RTG and support 45° from where the instructions say to place it, but it will fit in the payload bay if you do that.
