In our opinion, the FT-3DE is virtually on a par with its recently announced successor, the FT-5-DE (RRP 449€). The only minor differences are the IPX protection class, the AF output power and the operating functions. Time for a real bargain!

I have one. It’s a lot of HT for the money, especially at $349.
It does digital C4FM and has built in gps and shows the information it receives from APRS.
I have an Alinco, which is only $149, but it doesn’t display APRS data.

Yea, once you integrate GPS and an APRS TNC into a HT things start to go up in price quickly. Check out the Kenwood TH-D74 if you really want to see how expensive HT's can get...
