    Yeah I still don’t know what’s up with that. There are lots of designs with dummy scoops like that which fly fine.

    In any case, I’m not rushing to build this tomorrow, though it is enticing. I’m not generally too enthusiastic about retro-futuristic designs but I like this one.

    I just realized I don't know if this thread is about half-baked designs, or if the thread itself is half-baked.

    Maybe it's just the thread *title* that is half-baked, after all. o_O

    You could make the dummy scoop into an actual scoop. Kind of like an Augie, but with style. Then you would have some air flow through there which might actually promote stability a little, like a ring fin.

    Maybe, although hard to see where it would vent to. In any case, after further thought, I'm very unlikely to build this anytime soon despite the fact that I like it a lot. If anyone wants it... ;)
