I wonder if anyone has some scraps? I actually just need 2 at least 5 inch pieces. I hate to order some just for that but am prepared to if necessary. I would gladly pay actual shipping plus a reasonable fee for them. I hate placing a vendor order where the shipping is more than the cost of my product!!

(I know this might sound obvious...) Just curious, but do you have a local hobby shop nearby? My local shop actually separates Estes BT packs and sells tubes individually. If anything, buy locally and save the leftovers for another project. BT are like TP, you can never have to much and you're always going to need them/it. :D

So take the opportunity to stock up! Buy a designer special or just a good selection of tubes - it's not like you won't use them ;)

If I place an order, obviously I will have to.
And no, this is a rocket wilderness. There is virtually no hobby store support for us rocketeers here in TN.
Hobbytown USA carries a few kits and Estes motors. Hobbylobby doesn't carry anything but Estes kits and motors. Heck, even Michaels stopped carrying rockets and motors!

It's the same over here. I don't know a single hobby store that carries anything other than Estes, and they are few and far between. Beatties used to be a fairly safe bet, and they had Quest too, until they all went bust.

In my area we're lucky enough to have a vendor that does carry Estes kits and motors, but it's a very limited range and entirely dependant upon the whim of the importer Rip(off)max.

On the plus side, we have some excellent specialist vendors who do mail order and attend launch events.

I also need to stock up on some 24mm tubing. The thing that makes me kick myself, is the fact that as many times as I browsed Ross's trailer Saturday, I didn't even once think to get some (if he had some, which I remember seeing quite a few boxes of LOC tubes) :(

I know! I walked right in and out without it crossing my mind at all. And I sat at registration for5 hours at least not a dozen yards from the vendors!!

hey Eric and David,
sorry I didn't make it to ST2004
my wife had an accident and severily burned her entire left hand saturday
I won't get into details .except it required a visit to the emergency room.she is doing ok .although in a lot of pain still
obviously it was important for me to stay home and tend to her
..although she did urge me to go without her ......I knew better

we went to a specialist today and he assured us that her hand(in time) should heal ok..although there could be some minor scarring

I've got to take care of the little woman .she supports my hobby 100%..It's only fair I support her when I see that she needs it
I had been anticipating the launch for weeks,,and wish I could have made it
... hope to see you at the next one !

Andy, I hope your wife's injuries heal quickly. I had a pretty good burn on my hand many years ago and I know how great it is to get past something like that.
Commendations on making the right choice, to stay and take care of her! When it comes to the female species it seems to be very important for you to just be there, even if you are not physically doing anything to help (they are wierd critters sometimes). There will be other launches, but a good wife is well worth a little sacrifice.

absolutley right choice. Your presence and support now is more important for her.
On ST2004:
I keep waiting to read some comments from those who made it. As someone who worked and fly a tiny bit, I am interested in how others enjoyed it, how we can improve, etc. I wasn't very involved in planning, but still would like feedback...

Well, for starters, you need to have a little talk with that weather guy ya'll have down there! We wanted two good days, not just one! :) I enjoyed the launch very much! Well, except when I was at the southern end of the field, and heard that screaming noise overhead, and couldn't see anything. I knew I was safe when I heard the loud thump though. The only thing I personally am going to do differently at the next one (there will be a next one won't there?), is to fly more, and talk less (yeah right!).
