the early rocket launch in the video looks like a Black Brant as you can see the B/W checker board pattern on the fins and airframe

Very cool find. The upper stage is an Apache :). I am building a Nike Apache 1/2 scale currently. The second stage on the flight (about 10 minutes into the video) looks to be an Apache. It is the thinner airframe version than the one I am building, and also sports the DOVAP (Doppler velocity and position) antennas on the airframe, visible just forward of the sustainer fins.

The Apache is currently sitting in our hallway, primed and ready to fly on an M840. Weather has been so bad we have had about three launches cancelled, and I can't make it to tomorrows launch :(
