I'm Joe from Westerly, RI NAR #11344. I've been launching since 1967, and was the Space History editor for Sport Rocketry during the Steve Weaver editorship. I'm looking to connect with NAR members in Rhode island first to have a flying partner, and eventually to resurrect Rhode Island Aviation and Space Education (RIASEC) #600, a NAR section that is apparently inactive.

If you are trying to start a new NAR Section or expand an existing Section, the NAR Headquarters can help with a list of NAR members close to you. The list is only available for existing NAR members and should only be used to contact members in your area about interest in joining your club. The is not to bu used for any commercial purpose.

The NAR will provide the following information in an Excel spread sheet or PDF file:

NAR Number
Name
Address
Email address
Phone number

To request the list send your NAR number with your Name, Email, Daytime and Nighttime phone numbers along with what City, States or Zip codes you would like to get information for.

Please state"

"I understand that these names and contact infomation are for the sole use by NAR members seeking interest of other NAR members for club membership only"

Print, Sign and Date your request and send to:

NAR Headquarters,
PO Box 407
Marion, IA 52303

Good luck Joe. I am in Connecticut and from what I understand... after the Station fire, it is virtually impossible to fly anything other than an Estes Mosquito (the original no upscale) in RI.

I see you're in Westerly. It's a bit of a hike - 45 minutes - but at CATO we fly out at Salem, and we can fly up to G impulse with a 4000' waiver, which is far better than anything you're gonna get in RI.

i have just relocated to pascoag in Jan. and plan to continue to fly with CMASS they are a very good group!!! the farthest field is a 90 minute drive, not to bad.

Hi,
I'm over in Groton.
I recently became a member with CATO Rockets.

Next fly is this Saturday the 20th.

Easy to get to.
Drop a line if you want to chat.

I can help with the truck parking and carpool.
Would it be the entire truck/trailer or just bob tail?

Thaw out your rocket gear because we are a go for launch of our first inaugural Model Rocket Launch on this Saturday (March 22, 2014 @ 10 am) of the newly formed Rhode Island Model Rocket Association (RIMRA / NAR 755)!!!!!!

We have also launch our website, which is still under development. We will post additional information on this launch, future launches and other activities this week. The website will be a interactive and information will be updated bi-weekly. I am sure we have some glitches and errors that have eluded use so feel free to let us know.
Check it out https://www.rimra.org

This endeavor was the a result of the hard work of Jeff Oppold, John O’Connor and Ray DiPaola, along with the support of URI, Peckham Farm, CATO and many others, major props to them!!

CATO Club https://www.catorockets.org is supporting our launch providing equipment and logistical support, big round of applause. We also have MMMSC https://mmmsclub.org jetting down from Maine to join the festivities. To them this is going to be like going to Florida, they will be the ones with shorts on. Thanks for the support Mainers!

The launch site is the turf field off Peckham Farm Rd. in Kingston, RI. It is off Rt. 138 and across the street from the URI Ryan Center. Launch information and directions are located here https://www.rimra.org/launch-site/

Please read the launch Protocol https://www.rimra.org/launch-site/launch-protocol/. This site was obtained by the permission of University of Rhode Island (Landowner) and the Turf farmer that operates on the site. Recognize we are guest and leave them with a good impression so we can use this site long into the future.

This launch is free but we love to have you as a member you can sign up at the Launch site: https://www.rimra.org/become-a-member/

Hang on to you fins, rocketeers here we go!!!!!

Can't wait! Also looks like quite a few CMASS members will attend, so 4 of the New England clubs will be represented.

A question re cost. There is a note under launch info:

12. How much?

$20 for first adult, $5 for each additional family member – No launch fees for the first day.

Does this refer to membership? This would be our first club launch ever - I think we'll probably just watch.
