Mysterious Plane over Denver

I live in northern central Nevada and saw something very similar this Monday.

Back in the 80's/90's it was common to see AWACS aircraft flying similar patterns here.
 
Its diffidently not a B-52, as suggested in the second link (dailymailuk) it is more than likely an E-6.
 
I think I read that it was reported that it landed at Tinker AFB in Oklahoma. That's where the Navy's E-6 aircraft are based. I suspect it took off from Travis AFB in California. The flight path shows a typical "holding" pattern which wouldn't be unusual. They probably fly over that area all the time. It's only news because some noticed. :)

This was being discussed on the radio this evening in the way home. The host mentioned that the call sign "Iron 99" was similar to the Iron call signs used by some bases in the NW, but those were typically assigned to T-38 flights. And since the T-38 is always all-black, this white aircraft obviously couldn't be one. Mystery deepens...

Never mind that the T-38 is a slim, twin-engine fighter trainer and this aircraft is obviously a large 4-engine type. It wasn't the right color, so it could be ruled out. Also never mind that historically, white was a dominant color for the T-38. I know that the average public doesn't know a T-38 from a B-17, but still, it seemed so silly... :facepalm:
 
I think it was the first test flight of the new North korean Stealth bomber.....they absolutely hate the Broncos.....

My guess would be an RC aircraft of unusual design, maybe a custom build. The times he claims to see it sound like lunch hour RC fun for someone. If larger than an RC aircraft, the scale speed would have to be incredible, and the relatively close proximity and low altitude indicate to me that's it's a very small aircraft.
 
The race track shaped flightpath shown in the Daily Mail article looks to be a hold over the Jeffco VOR. I've heard military aircraft ask for unpublished holds to help waste time while they wait for other aircraft to meet up with or military airspace to open up for them.
 
Since when do aircraft flying up high in the sky, need to have answers?
 
These sightings of mysterious flights over Denver have spiked with the popularity of legal weed.
