Mylar for competition streamers

I have tried multiple types of mylar and have not found one that works well.

I tried two different window films but they were too thick.

I have been using survival blanket but it rips almost every flight.

What kind of mylar do you use and where do you get it?

1 or 2 mil mylar from hydroponics stores on Amazon works pretty well.

Not for competition... but I use bird scare tape... Amazon has it, and probably your local lawn & Garden place. More here

Aerospace specialty products sells mylar as well. Another source is mylar tablecloths from party stores. I picked up one a month ago at a local Dollar General store in the party area.

That 1-mil mylar mentioned by @TheAviator is the way to go. One can source this material from hydroponic or greenhouse supply stores.
