My In-Progress Estes Yankee (with Modifications)

I've been working on an Estes Yankee, but have made several major modifications, including:

- Installing a payload bay to hold a Jolly Logic AltimeterTwo
- Modifying the nose cone to partially hold the payload (inspiration from Kevin's Models & More)
- Installing a heavily fortified "3-half-moon" baffle (homemade) using the engine spacer provided in the Yankee kit as the coupler/housing. This baffle also serves as the engine block. The inner components of the baffle are made out of brass wire, the back of picture frames and JB weld.
- Installing a parachute recovery system using an HDPE plastic bag (still not sure on its exact size, but probably between 6 and 8 inches in diameter)
- Making the fins out of card stock from toys from Wendy's and papering them just for kicks

It's not done yet, but I'm getting there. I'm pretty sure it'll work, but I'm not 100% sure how long the rocket and/or baffle system will last; time will tell.

Hey, any further progress on this rocket? My girlfriend put one together and gave it a beautiful paint scheme, I’m curious to see what if anything you ended up doing with yours.

I no longer use the JL AltimeterTwo with it, though. I plan on flying it with the MicroPeak altimeter instead. This means the payload bay is either way oversized or no longer necessary.
