Catching up to the current place in the build, I needed to get rid of the nose cone seam, so I hit it with 80 grit, then 120, 220, and 400 before epoxying it in. Initially it kept popping out due to the air pressure from trapped air. I removed it and wiped off a 1/8" or so line of the epoxy giving the air a tiny escape path, seated nicely, twisted it back and forth to even it out some...

I then gave it a thin coating of thinned CWF and let that sit for a few days. Today, I sanded it off using 400 grit, it takes a little longer, but reduces the risk of over sanding the tube, at least for me. The gap between tube and nose cone wasn't filled well, so I re-applied some more CWF over that joint, over doing it this time. I did smooth it down more with my finger after maybe fifteen minutes so it won't be too much to sand smooth after it has fully dried. One day I'll try using some Tamiya putty or similar for this type of joint smoothing...

So continuing with the priming, I spot sanded around the nose joint, in front of the wings were the main areas of focus. I imagine for some, this stage of the build is quite frankly tedious if you want a nice finish, and is as exciting as watching paint dry, then doing it again... :angiefavorite:

Well, that was close- I thought I had another can of white primer, but it was gloss-I used the tail end of two cans of primer that were "empty", well, they are definitely empty now! At this time, I'm pleased with the primer- the last three shots are all 120° from each other- and will add a gloss white coat next...

Just to have more pictures, I took a shot from four 'sides' before paint. Maybe I could have placed a few strips straighter, but I think it will turn out fine as is. The last two pics are after the second coat, this will dry for a couple of days at least...

Okay, cool rocket, but I am clueless. What are all the little squares for?

flight suggestion. I love rear ejection, but can be rough on the cone if you don’t land on soft grass or plowed dirt. Consider putting a nerf dart or a bit of blue tape on the nose tip just before flight.
