Mind you, you have to make sure the right people are there when you certify....
I'm in the NAR, and I went to do my certification at a launch that only had Tripoli folks in it (mostly level 3 folks, too...) Didn't know that nobody was in the NAR at that group until the actual launch day. Submitted the paperwork with TRA signatures, and was turned down. AFter the fact, noticed at the NAR site that there grandfathering rule (mutually recognizing levels in the other organization for flight purposes) works after you are certified, but for liability purposes, you need to have somebody there from your own organization for certification. I thought that the fact that my certifier was TRA level 3 would be taken into consideration, but the NAR was looking out for the best interest of the organization, and I don't blame them.
Just waited until the next large NAR/TRA launch about a month and a half later, and got certified there. More fun there, anyway, cause there was a big ole vendor there that had lots of stuff to buy right on the spot.... "welcome to high power, just leave the credit card number on file..."
