MPC Pioneer 1's

Got to digging around in some recent lots I bought and came up with some odd ball Pioneer kits. All 3 were factory sealed, from the same general era and all 3 are different. The left kit is that same as ones I've had before. The middle kit had a short BT and balsa NC that's the wrong shape and the right one has a single piece yellow NC. I understand different coloured fin cans or NC's using whatever pellets are already loaded in the injection machine. It's the BT and NC differences that are weird.

I find this very interesting. The one I have built, resembles the kit in the first box. I also find the color of the fin units interesting. The one on my Pioneer 1 is a darker red (like the one in the box) but the one that is used as a first stage on my Pegasus II is a lighter orange, like the unit in the third box.
