newbie ? here what is the best way to center up a 75mm aeropac motor retainer on aft centering ring since motor tube does not go inside the retainer

Put a motor in it. Wrap some tape around the aft closure to take up slack. Also wrap some tape around the case and put it into the mmt so slack is gone there. Slide it all together just like it will be when it’s epoxied and screwed.

Why doesn't the motor tube go into the retainer?

I'm guessing the MMT was epoxied flush, and someone now wants to add a retainer.

All 98mm and some 54/75mm AP retainers are flange mount, meaning that they bolt onto the centering ring instead of being glued onto the motor mount tube.
Note the second row of retainers from the bottom.
