Hey All,
I am starting to amass my components to start my L3 project, MadCow Frenzy XL. I need to get my motor retainer and am not sure which way to go. Should I get a flange (which I have never used before) or the traditional epoxy on style? Are there advantages/disadvantages? Do I even have room for flange?

All feedback is welcome.

Thanks

ROY

Flange.

fits perfect on 4in tubes with 3 in. motor tube.
Mount motor tube flush. drop motor into tube through flange, holds everything in alignment while screwing flange.
Forget the inserts, just let cap head screw self tap into CR.
Install like tightening nutz on tire, across from each other.
Do not fully tighten till all screws in place.

You can remove easier than glue on, in case of.........well you know.

I did the same as CJ on my 6" V2 (which narrows down to 4" at the motor mount end). I drilled pilot holes for the screws, and used JB weld to hold them in place. I suppose that makes it more permanent than making the screws removable, but it was easier than trying to put the inserts in and making sure they all aligned.
