Monokote/Ultracote vs Sprayed Clear Coat

On a rocket mostly finished with spray paint, and now requiring both Monokote stripes and a clear coat, would you:

a. Apply the clear coat first and finish with the Monokote/Ultracote stripes.​

b. Apply the Monokote/Ultracote stripes first, and finish up with the clear coat over everything including over the Monokote/Ultracote stripes.​

I'd test either method out on some scrap material first. My guess is b. would be ok, but I've not tried it.

I've had no issue applying Rustoleum Crystal Clear over Monokote Trim, or over other types of vinyl markings.

I've never used monokote trim, but for vinyl (such as Stickershock) I always do B and not A

Clear last to seal the stripes. Painted monokote a lot. Like to scuff it with a maroon scotchbrite pad first.

I use Future Floor Cleaner w/Acrylic to give everything a seal and shine. It has a New Name
