I think I might have a new project - I can buy all these parts locally for less than a 1010 rail plus shipping...
 
I get that this would be a very rigid stand, but it would seem the friction of the "lug" in that rail would be higher than a little 'ole tube on a rod. Does this kind of strength/rigidity really benefit low power rockets.

A "C-Rail"-type setup prevents "Rod Whip" and is especially good in breezy conditions.
