Does anyone have any experience scratch building and flying a MIM-23 Hawk? Just wondering about the real world flight characteristics. Thinking about modeling this up in CAD and 3D printing it. Will likely be based on 18mm motors.

It has big fins, which can be heavy at the wrong end of the rocket. A little nose weight helps.

But that is the design spiral of doom right there:. More weight, needs a bigger motor, needs more weight, etc.

So, build as light as you can. A little longer airframe can help and doesn't look too far off from scale.

Post pictures for us to admire!

I might just make this 1/4 engine rocket with tumble recovery!!
