I just finished this Mig-25 Fighter Jet project this past W/E.
I took it to a Boy Scout meeting on Monday past and Harold and I did a presantation to the Scouts on model rocketry.
They seem to like it.
The MiG is D/E powered. It's heavy, it weighs almost 4 oz.(120grams)
18 inch chute will provide recovery.
14.75" BT-55 body and with nose cone, it is 19" long with 3/32 medium hard balsa for fins.
I enlarged an Estes Strike Eagle for the engine pods.
I think it looks neat.
And no I have not flown this yet but I'm sure it will fly.

I'm waiting for some decals from another rocket designer who shall go nameless but does a lot of interesting builds.

Hey, that's TERRIFIC!!!

You just might have to kit these and start selling them... jet models are the COOLEST and there aren't many out there! KUTGW!!!

Later! OL JR :)

Luke,

Thanks.
PM me if you want to clone it.
I don't know how to make a plan for my designs...yet.
I mostly scale-up a plan like the one in the A-7 Corsair II build post of the MiG-25 Foxbat.

Sooo cool! The Mig-25 is my 2nd favorite jet fighter, second to the F-104T, Let me know when you get around to the F104T. And just wondering how are these even stable? The wings would move the cp forward quite
a bit.

SD,

Got a pic of an F-104T
I know the F-104 Starfighter, but the T version is unknown to me,
and yes I have plans for one of those too!

It Flies!

Finally I fly the MIG. I brought it to CMASS today. I did not have a motor for it but I was hoping to buy or trade for one.
Better yet I got one donated by a fellow CMASS member and new found friend Mark A.
He wanted to see it fly. As did I.

Thank you Mark.

Check out the pic and video.

CMASS Launch 10-23-10 018.jpg

Dan,

That was a nice flight even in the wind. I always worry that jet type models with all that wing area are going to weathercock.

I like the fleet of jet type models you have.

So you got to meet new people yesterday including David Crosby!.

Hey Bob,

Did you see the flight?
It was nice to meet and talk to you.
I was a little apprehensive about that first launch.
All in all a great day!

I love your design and would like to clone it. Will you share data with me?
