I built this F26-fj6 19 inch MD beauty in 3 days using only garbage material. The only store bought feature was balsa for the fins.

It was simmed at over 2600 feet. Sadly it was lost, I assume, due to a faulty motor retention system.

Either way, it was my second attempt at stable flight and I succeeded in my main objective.

Now to put more effort into motor retention systems and shock cord attachment systems. I don't want to lose every rocket I fly.

G74-6W on a home built. It is the small one from the video and pictures above. It didn't fly that day due to forgotten ignitors. And my launch pad camera failed.

Interesting choice of launch site.

Back in 00' through 01', I used to fly my scratch built 29mm and Aerotech G-Force in my Mom's back yard, as I lived a few towns away in a heavily populated area with no fields.
I would only fly when there was no wind, as I had to land them in an area 100 yards away, that was about 150x150 feet.
I did not have the internet back then, so I had nobody to tell me that that was a bad idea, but the Rocket Gods must have been on my side, as I flew and recovered my scratch built 4 times before it found the trees, and so that's what made me get the G-Force, and that flew 4 times if I remember correctly before the second time that it was treed.
On the fourth flight, it was treed, but on my Mom's property so my friend came over with his chainsaw and we got it back.
On the fifth, it went up on a G 80, and there was definitely wind up that high, and it landed in the top of a really tall Maple about 200 yards away, so that was the last I saw of it before I had to leave for the Army.
I did'nt even have a proper launch pad back then.
