Medford Oklahoma has returned to the world of rocketry. We will be holding a launch on the 30th of April.

Field will be at the Medford municipal airport. Launch schedule is being worked on at the moment. The 30th will be the reopening of the site since the 90s

There has been a lot of behind the scenes help. Jeff Durkin and Doug Dinse have been nothing but helpful along the way.
We have a new Wilson FX launch system and I know it is a pain being a one day launch on a Sunday but i think it's looking like a good turnout.

I am curious as to how you are going to comply with 101.25(g) which requires that you be 1,500' or 1/4 the expected altitude, whichever is greater, from any uninvolved persons or property. Or did you get that waived?

We have landowners permission which makes them participants and the FAA concurs

Here's a satellite photo of the Medford area. The Medford Municipal Airport is southwest of Medford, marked with the plane.
The golf course is east of Medford, quite a distance from the airport.

I am quite familiar with the area. My grandfather lived in town and I attended the Sooner Boomer launches way back when. If you look closely at that image you will see a 9 hole course snuggled up just to the east of the runway. But that location you have marked looks nothing like a golf course. It may have been one once but it isn't now. I do recall playing (I use that term loosely) golf at a course east of town once long ago. The "greens" were oiled sand that you rolled before putting.

I am asking because at the DARS Prairie Hill launch site people start showing up for the evening drag racing activities before we close down. If they are uninvolved (they certainly appear to be) then the altitude limits should be reduced to ~6,000' so that the FAA minimum can be met.

Hey all...The weather is not looking the best for a launch this weekend. We do have people that are still willing to chance it and hope for a clearing in the weather. So we will be out there if anyone wants to show up. Thanks.
