Currently I am trying to pull data from my MAWD's last flight. The last time I tried this was maybe one or two laptops ago.

I am running Windows 10 and have the hardware to connect everything via a USB cable to the laptop and when it was plugged in my computer registered it as FT232R USB UART.

When I then launched the MAWD Data Capture software (DatCapWD Ver 1.1), it does not see a COM port, but my Device Manager says I have a COM3 but it may be irrelevant for this process.

I am assuming power is coming from the computer but I have no idea if that is the case.

Do I need to do other steps? Can anyone help?

Greg

You need to have power to your device, it does not get power from the computer. You also need to connect to it right after you power it up - check the manual for details.

^ This. Use the MAWD software. I could not connect with the other software.

Plug it in. Launch the software. Select a com port. Turn on the altimeter. Within just a second or two, hit Data > Acquire.

Here is the road map for any future users.
  1. Launch PerfectFlte software app
  2. Plug in the USB
  3. Power on MAWD with battery
  4. Go to app
  5. Altimeter-->Comm Port-->Click “Not Present” then “OK”
  6. Data -->Acquire
(Software should be able to read and transfer the data at this point)
