I was really excited about this one (my 6 year old had been begging for it all year), but was startled by the poor quality of the appearance up close. Just a cheap piece of foam for the most part.
Not much to build, but its odd!
Dont see much about the Leaper, ENJOY!
Yes, the instructions tell you to friction fit the motor but also says the motor is supposed to eject.Instructions don't state to friction fit motor in? Better chance it would land upright on its legs.,
Contradiction in Motor mounting terminology.Yes, the instructions tell you to friction fit the motor but also says the motor is supposed to eject.
Well, you need enough friction in there to ensure the motor won't fall out the back while sitting on the pad. One wrap of tape is usually enough for that.Contradiction in Motor mounting terminology.
The second launch it was still coming down sideways with the motor in it, and without itOk, I think keeping it in will definitely aid in it landing upright.
I wrote the first of the one star reviews on Estes website. I'll admit, it is fun to fly, and I should of waited until I had flown it before writing the review, but there's a couple things that bug me about the foam and the appearance.Honestly, I'm surprised by people being surprised that it was a piece of foam. What else would it be to get a shape like that? Plastic would be too heavy.
So they should rename it the Grass Hopper?I've only launched mine two or three times, but it's looking good so far on grass landings.
