Hi Gang,
Big things have been happening around here.... I love Mini Brutes: those 13mm lil' things. One of my favorites has always been the short lived, pseudo scale Aero-Hi. Well, I had this BT-80 cone, and one thing led to another.... I upscaled the Aero Hi 353%, and built this baby. Except for lite ply centering rings, it is built like a low power bird: strong yet light. It does have TTW fins, but they are 1/4" balsa.
I finally had a chance to launch it Saturday at the ASTRE launch. E9-6 is the perfect motor. Rocsim says that it will do 1000 feet, but my best guess is that it really got about 800.
As we had 5-10mph winds, and 3 foot tall grass, I used an 18" top flight chute which worked perfectly.
