Picked up a MC Sport X while it was on sale to log some more 29/38mm flights on while I work on my L-2 build. Wondering if anyone else has built one and how they like it ? tips ? motors flown , ect.

    Thanks , Andy

Nice kit. I used the included coupler to make an AV bay and turned it into a DD rocket. I've flown mine with a J350W.

Very Nice- I plan on doing the av bay as well. Did you end up with any nose weight added ??

Not one to let a new kit sit long - I dove right in. As usual from MadCow , the dry fit was very nice with minimal sanding.
Started on the motor mount soon after and will post some pics as we go.

I added an AV bay in the nose cone and use an Eggfinder as my nose weight. The combined weight of nose cone, bulkheads, Eggfinder, battery, sled, ubolt, etc is approx 7.66 oz. The AV bay also adds a little weight up forward. Open rocket calculates 1.93 cal with a J350 and my "nose weight."

very nice guys. question regarding the Mad Cow cardboard tubes, I have heard that they are this or "thinner" than those from other manufactures. can you speak to this? would you agree or do you find that they are adequate?

in a way, taking J350 answers it.

Great kit for the $$ and everything fit with minimal work. I recently built one and will be using it for my L1 attempt here soon. So far I have tested it successfully with G64’s. Looking forward to seeing what it can do with high power!

Went and did a successful level 1 certification flight yesterday with the sport x! Flew straight and true even with a bit of wind! Aerotech H-135w dms boosted up to ~2300ft. Now I need to get my first hpr motor casings Thanks to James of the SARA club for all the help!
