No sir, I did it... since the fins are 3/16" thick, it makes the bevels look pretty mean.

Got a second set of JB Weld fillets down this evening...

Nothing major to report... conformal rail guides installed, and hit the fillets with some filler...

Couple more steps complete, which then brings me closer to ground testing...

- sanded off some of the filler, should be ready for some primer here shortly


- glued the charge wells in place


- preparing drogue and main cordage as well

Ya'll are bad influences!:wink: It's entirely possible that I noticed your 3" Scorpion build last year and thought: "if only Mike would offer a 4" Scorpion". The timing is right, 4" Scorpion coming right up! Great review Tim, Nick has done a lot of neat work with Mike at MAC, now Justin, plus David, and so on. Resistance is futile! I'm sold!

Placing my order for my first MAC product today...

Eric, I think you will like the canvas products.

I just received the pieces part this afternoon from Mike for the 38mm adapter. More pics to come and hopefully some will include some priming and painting as well...

More work done on the 38mm adapter... Due to the 10" length of the coupler as well as the internal 38mm motor tube, this will be one of the heavier of the pieces of this build.

I would like to see if ground testing can be done this weekend as well...

I loaded up the drogue with 1.0 grams of 4F BP, worked great. The same 1.0 gram main charge didn't cut it... I'll need to reload the main with 1.5 grams and retest...

Ground testing complete... Drogue will be 1.0-1.2 grams, main will be a punchy 1.5 grams as tested this evening...

lookin good. I use 1.2g for 3x 2-56 pins and .8-1.0g for 2 pins. so your numbers look about right. my tip, don't use your chute for ground testing. use a rag or old t shirt to simulate the volume of fabric. an undercharged ejection will torch a cute, ask me how I know....

Rockets do not need names, and the things that come to mind are of questionable taste.

Paint- something other than yellow, or camo.

Why do you guys hate yellow so much? I agree that camo on a rocket is a bad idea. Rockets like this need high visability colors. How about orange?

Great first flight today to 5556'! The coupler took hit on landing (due to the cold I am guessing), but it flew bullet straight...

I talked to Mike and he will have a new coupler on the way next week.

The couplers are a different type of phenolic right? They're not the canvas stuff, but something else if I remember correctly. It at least looks like a different material. I hate having to not fly certain rockets in cold weather... How cold was it, and how fast did she hit the ground?
