Not sure what is different with the gel coat and what Performance Hobbies sells now. I've had an eye out for a 3" NC so I was for sure seeing what you had available. I'm not partial to any material one way or the other.
Is gel coat superior? I'm asking because I don't know.

What I do know is it is easier to glue things into a gel coat nose cone because of the rough weave inside the cone.
