looking for 5" OD body tubes

Planning a full sized model, and need 5" body tubes and couplers. anyone run across these?

Does it have to be exactly 5.0" OD, or could you use 5.5" If so, lots of the latter can be easily found...

Sounds like a full scale Sidewinder missile to me. I've been looking for 5" tubes for that also. 5" ID is the closest I've found, would have to make the couplers though.

you could try mailing tubes, maybe a little heavier than your standard BT but it could still work

only problem with them is that they make you buy them in bulk which is ok if you plan on building alot of rockets

the least I have found you can buy in bulk is 10-15 tubes

the sonoco tubes are 5" I.D. around 5.4 o.d i can get you some exact measurements if you need. Since I am using them as forms it didnt really matter to me. I make the couplers off of foam that I turn on a lathe, seal the foam, layup over it and then remove the foam when it is cured.

I used 5" O.D. acrylic tubing from United States Plastic Corp. for my Gemini-Titan, but is was a bear to cut the fin slots.
