I like building "scale" rockets based on real rockets and I prefer the 4" or larger size. I've already built the LOC IRIS, Dragon Rocketry Honest John, Boyce Aerospace Mercury Redstone, Juno I and Pershing I, and I'd like to do a Black Brandt II. I know that Mad Cow has a 4" fiberglass Black Brandt, but at the cost of a fiberglass kit, I'd rather just stick to cardboard tubes.

It looks like Mad Cow isn't selling their BB II nosecone by itself, so does anyone know where I can source a 4" or larger nosecone for the BB II? If not, I might just have to design one in Fusion 360 and print one.

Thanks

See if you can find a conical and add the extension ?

I have modeled a conical nose rocket, the AeroSpike Test at Dryden, using a 2.6 BBII nose cone and painting it so that the extension part looks like part of the rocket body. Which is the reverse of what you want.

That's probably the best option. Mad Cow does have a 5.5" 5:1 Conical nosecone available which probably wouldn't be too noticeable on the pad as not being a 6:1.

I have 5 four inch conical nosecones that I would like to sell. They are molded fiberglass. A couple have some canard slots in them. I have the G10 canards for them if wanted or they can be filled with epoxy. A couple have slightly broken tips which can be simply sanded. And a couple of perfect ones....see pic. I will sell them for $45.00 for the good ones and $35.00 for the others. If you would like one, please email me at
