I would like to purchase the following data recording and recovery products in a package from Loki. This package includes one of each of the following plus the ARTS 2 flight computer. My question: Does one need an amateur radio license to use these products?. They are going in a 98mm mongoose. Thanks all!!

Receiver Base Station

Transmitter with GPS

Active GPS antenna

Serial cable (base station to computer)

no you do not need a license. I have one I need to get working. I am actually wondering if I can use 2 on a seperate frequency to track 2 stages of a rocket.

The ARTS transmitter does NOT require an amateur radio license.

Check the Ozark Aerospace web page. They are the manufacture of the ARTS system and have a lot more info then Loki does. Loki is just the retailer.
