Hi,

I am working on a rocket project that has the LOC Terrier Booster being use with the LOC Nike Zeus 2.26". The motor mount is 38mm with a 38mm motor retainer. I use Cesaroni motor casings, so far. Having to mount the motor mount tube further up into the rocket body tube to accept the Terrier Booster, access to the motor retainer is very tight. Any suggestions about what can be done to remedy this would be great. I think I might need to go with a 29mm motor mount.

Thanks

Ron

Just heard from LOC. Not able to use the metal motor retainer in the Zeus, friction fit only with staging.

yup yup. Only way to get any of the 38mm MMTs to fit the transition piece. They are fun to fly. The Terrier/BBX and the Dark Star Jr. 2-stage are my current training birds to get good at staging before I move up to 4"+ stuff.

Just picked up the same combo (Terrier booster and BBX) for Black Friday deal. Looking forward to the build.

I'm currently building the BBX and the Terrier booster, and the 38mm slimline retainer fits just fine.
Yeah I discovered the slim line retainers while building the Dark Star Jr 2-stage which was after I had built the BBX and Sandhawk. I guess I could go back and install them on the LOC birds... but for now I am lazy and friction fit works LOL. Also, I learned with the slim line on fiberglass I had to install some aluminum shims to get a centered fit. If that's the case with the LOC cardboard mmts it may be painful to get them aligned since the mmts are already installed. I'll have to ponder that one. Good advice though none the less.

It "looked" like there was enough space around the Aeropack motor retainer in the 38mm BBX I have but I never bought the booster for that project so I don't know how thick the transition wall was.

They fit very well on LOC tubes. I have one on my Nuke Pro Maxx, and it's perfect.
