Aeropack 29mm retainer or friction fit?

I am not really squeamish about friction fit, but I would like to avoid it. I have the unassembled Loc Star Fighter-152 kit in hand and was waiting on more aeropoxy to assemble it, along with some Kevlar for the shock cord and I started thinking if I should use one of the 29mm retainers I have on it.

Thoughts?

I left a 3/8 extension of the motor tube so I could do a wrap of tape for retention.

I like the Aeropack retainers. This is the motor mount for an IQSY Tomahawk.
Can't remember if it's the 29L or 29P

I like the look of the Aeropack retainers, especially on something that looks like a jet. They have that "J-79 exhaust nozzle" look to 'em. ;)

If the retainer's collar is the same OD as my main airframe tube (or near enough), I like to JB weld the retainer base to the motor tube first, then when I glue the mount into the main airframe I put in a motor casing, thread the collar on and make sure the retainer collar fits up against the main airframe when installed. Looks cool that way...:p:rolleyes:
