I'd like to get a good lipo charger:

1) good quality from a reputable brand
2) can handle a variety of batteries from tiny 1S 110 mAh to 2S 300 mAh to 3S 2200 mAh
3) can drop a battery to storage voltage
4) automatically stops when battery fully charged
5) easy to use, or at least comes with good instructions

Anyone have a favorite that meets these requirements?

Nice that they have the user manual online! I checked it out and that looks suitable. It will even go down to the 100 mA charge current the little 1S batteries need.

Thank you!

I have two types. I've got a little USB-powered charger from Adafruit I use for all the 1S batteries. I have a SUPULSE mod. B3V2 charger for 2S and 3S batteries. All of them work well.

Amazon has a "HTRC B6 V2 Balance Charger" on Black Friday sale. Price is dropped from $44 to $35.

Some chatter I've seen online indicates clones are reasonably decent vs. the original IMAX. (And who really knows whether you're getting an IMAX or a counterfeit from Amazon, and if counterfeit, if it's just the same factory that builds them for IMAX running production above the official orders?)

Would it be worth buying the unit linked above for all my battery charging needs going forward? Or spend a few more bucks later for a B6 with the IMAX logo on the case?

I have a B6 clone. Has worked for 1S to 4S packs for rockets, drones, and RC aircraft and cars for over a decade.

Wow, that discharge lead adapter has almost everything.

All it needs that it doesn't have is XT-30 and Anderson Powerpoles. It occurs to me that it would be easy for me to remove a couple I'd never use like the TRX and either of the Tamiyas and put XT-30 and Powerpoles on in their place.

Also, I'd be REALLY careful and keep that "T-plug" AKA Deans Ultra knockoff taped up or insulated while using this cable with other connections, since both poles are exposed. The same, it would appear, for the "TRX" plug.

That badly designed cable is going to pain in the a$$ to use.

Indeed. If I were to add that one to my charger collection I'd be making up a banana plugs to Anderson Powerpoles jumper and then adapters I already have to go from the Powerpoles to the various discharge plugs I have on packs of different purposes/vintages.

Since I was active with electric powered RC airplanes starting in about 1980 and then for a time I wrote a "column" on RCGroups' precursor site about chargers, I have a bunch of them already....
