'LIL GOBLIN Motor retainer ring

So I noticed there is no retainer system included with the kit. Which is fine. However I was told I will need a retainer kit. Im really liking the Aluminum one offered by madcow. However the kit instructions only state to leave 1/8" exposed at the base of the rocket. Shouldnt there be more needed than only 1/8"? I have plenty of length on the engine tube as they have 2" of excess that needs to be removed for recovery equipment.

Yes you need more than 1/8". Check Mad Cow site it might tell you how much motor tube you need exposed. They own Aeropak retainers now

I am going to look around now. But I didnt wanna start assembly until I was sure. I need to order the rings. Probably going to do my research this weekend and make a decision.

Im looking and I found the retainers but I dont understand what the difference between L1, L2, L3 and P are. And their site doesnt specify.

I think you need the RA29L Crazy. You'll want at least a 1/4 inch of the motor tube exposed to bond the retainer. I didn't know Aeropack was owned by Madcow. A recent development ?
