Here's some shots I got of some of the club guy's rockets at our Challenger 498 launch on 3/21/09. I don't end up flying a lot (some launches not at all) and usually end up doing the flight reports and take photos... These were all with my Fuji Finepix S2000HD, some set on burst mode (33 frames in less than 1.5 seconds). This is a really nice $200 "pro-sumer" upgrade camera from your regular P&S...

A silver rocket under Estes power...

Instant of ignition... zoom in on the blue-green rocket and you'll JUST see the fireball starting to emerge from the nozzle and blow the ignitor clips free... (need to zoom/crop this one!)

Here's the blue-green rocket pic tweaked a bit...

Here's somebody's nekkid project lifting off on a White Lightning motor... These next three are adjoining shots from the burst mode, cropped a bit to concentrate on the action...

An Aerotech rocket lifts off under Mojave Green power (note the puff of blue smoke from the ignitor hovering just over the whitish motor exhaust plume-- this was from the previous shot which showed the ignitor smoke blow out of the motor just before it came up to pressure and lit...

Some shots from my club's last launch of the year taken using my new lens (which was worth every penny as far as I'm concerned).

My Madcow Solar Express on a CTI F59.

The Solar Express again on a CTI F36. This rocket loves Pro29 1G motors.

Some more that aren't my flights.

Some nice mach diamonds on a CTI Classic K motor in an ARCAS.

I believe David Reese took this shot.

Where was this? Looks like someone had some fun!

This is out at the Old Rocketeers #724 launch site at Needville, here on my farm. This launch was quite a while back; I was trying out my *then* new Fuji digicam... there's a "launch report" thread over in the "events" section. I usually end up doing more photography and keeping the notepads by the club launch controller handy for people to write down what they're flying (nothing really formal, we don't even have an RSO-- just ask everyone to put their name, rocket name, motor(s) designation, and maybe jot down a comment about the flight the next time they're "checking in" for their next flight... heck everybody even launches their own birds using the club controller (I bring my own usually-- that's just me) unless they ask someone else to launch it so they can do pics or go out for recovery...

Here's some links that'll help you out... You'll have to come on out and fly with us when we finally get some rain (and hopefully ditch the burn ban!)

Who doesn't love Skids? The noise, the sparks, the smoke!

So long as they're far, far away from my land so the fire burns off someone else's place, they're great...

That and the whole "Hey look! Fireworks masquerading as hobby rockets!" aspect screaming "PLEASE GUBMINT! COME REGULATE ME!!!!" :kill::confused::confused2:

Other than that, they're terrific...

Just sayin!
