I'm gonna be starting this build soon and had a finishing question on this kit. I notice the side pods or motors are painted gray and white. I was wondering what would be the best way to paint this part. I was considering painting the parts separate then gluing them to mounts after the rest of the kit is painted and then touching up any areas with a brush. I can image what a PITA it would be to paint them while they are on the plane unless it was done by hand but who wants to see brush marks?

I would paint them separately myself. I'm like you in that brush strokes offend me to no end. Some have mastered brush stroking, I have not. Thick and wet is one approach that seems to work when brushing as it flows out and doesn't dry as fast by the time you get all the way around to the beginning. An attractive model BTW.
