The N800 is a research motor. The closest commercial motor is the Aerotech N1000 for the same case.

100 percent correct . It is only 5100 ns and change. It is technically not even a 1 percent M as it is still in the L range .

Certification says 5122, which is 2Ns over the M/L line.

This rocket weighs it at 33 lbs, and that's fully loaded, with motor; 5.5" dia., 9'-4" tall.
Its Loc cardboard tubing and plywood all around. On an AT M1297 (75mm) it goes
to 9,700 ft. That is AT's baby M. Sims show the L1090 (54mm) should work fine too.
Will give it a try in the Fall.

Manufacturers are allowed a little bit of leeway with the motor classification. In the end the motor classifications are abritrary, and a few Ns doesn't matter that much.

See also the M1939, which is actually barely over the limit for being a N, but is sold as an M. I suspect that's so all of the 98/10240 reloads are legal to fly in California, but have no evidence.

How about a 2/3 scale IQSY Tomahawk from Performance Hobbies? 6 inch diameter and it’s 40 pounds dry and 60 pounds with an M1939. 7200 feet and fairly close recovery (about 200 yards from the launch pad).

Do you mean the HyperLoc 1600 from Loc Precision?

My rocket is a scratch-build. They do look a little similar.

The HyperLoc looks like a good kit.
