Just about to begin finishing the Estes Odyssey…quite a challenging build! Any alternative paint schemes attempted?

Finally finished my Odyssey! Quite a challenge!

Built mine w stock paint scheme. I painted most everything red separately, then glued together.

First launch on a D12:



Chute tangled and hit too hard - broke 1 wing, and top fin. Have not repaired yet.

Yeah with hindsight I would've painted some parts first and glued later...like that interior nose cone. There are places where the chute lines could hang on the pods. I've seen another on liftoff corkscrew up into the air...was yours a straight up flight?

Nice looking rocket. I have a couple of these hanging on the wall and I've thought about building it a few times but keep passing it over.

I really need to commit to building it.

One of my favorite builds and kit. I have built two of them. The photos below are of my first one. It flew straight and true. I did have some damage after a crash. I gave it to a guy at a launch for him to repair and enjoy it. My current one is completely finished per the card art and flies GREAT. I don't have any photos of that one though. I consider this a wonderful kit. I wish Estes made more kits like these.
