LDRS Nike Smoke drag race

    I did the Nike smoke drag race this year at LDRS. There were four of us competing in the event. Someone had given us each a home-built igniter. So we would all be on even starting grounds.

    I'm wondering if anyone knows who gave us those or what kind of igniters they were?

    It appeared to be twisted CAT5 wire. The Pyro was a long thin cylinder. Maybe a dark tan color. I thought I heard someone say thermite. But that just might have been in conversation.

    Yep. That looks like it. We all use those to start the K 2050. I was thinking they were home made

    It also sounds like it might be a quick burst ignitor.
