The tube length of 8” is a minimum, can be longer.
If you have a 4” rocket that will fly on an H motor enter. It’s the highest flight not the highest sim that will win. You may have a better day than the guy with the perfect design.
And it will be fun.

M

I've already started working on a design...

Should be fun, I doubt I'll get close to winning, but it's worth a try.

How much is registration? NAR can fly?
No registration fee.
You need to be a Tripoli member. The contest is an official TRA Records Committee event so membership is required as with all records.
TCC is having other events and they may be open to NAR members.

Crap. I'm not interested this contest, I just wanted to watch and launch. Cancelled hotel room. :(

This contest is just a small part of the launch. There will be hundreds of flights over 4 days, other contests, technical talks, vendors, t-shirts etc, a banquet, and (probably) night flights, a live band, a raffle.

I'd guess that majordude has other reasons too, but I do find it a little off-putting that NAR members are excluded from participating in a "fun" contest. Ok, Tripoli records are for Tripoli members, but a contest like that can be run for everyone. If the winner isn't a TRA member, then don't add it to the TRA record, but they earned the win anyway. Just seems like an elitist attitude. Not very welcoming.

Just my opinion as a disinterested bystander. I'm not going regardless (too far away). But I was at LDRS 42 in NY last year and wasn't excluded from anything. Very nice group of folks running it, and I hope to meet them again this year at their "URRF" launch in June.

NAR contests are for NAR members, TRA record contests are for TRA members. That part is simple. FLYING is for BOTH

However, if you were not interested in the contest, more reason to go to LDRS; not cancel
