Hey all,

Just thought I'd share a picture of the launch of my DESCON entry--Project OMEGA. I finally finished the write up and got it in to Nick today.

Two C6-3s and a D12-0 burning in the booster with two B6-0s burning in parallel stages (these pop off at burn out). The D12-0 stages to a C11-5 in the sustainer. The C6-3s deploy recovery for the booster.

Sweet launch pic--wish I had a better camera....

Sweet launch pic?!?

I'll say!

"Cool as the other side of the pillow!"

So let me get this straight: The two flourescent orange side pods pop off when they burn out? Then the central booster pops off the sustainer and deploys it's own recovery system on the way down after stage separation?

Neat!

Can't wait to read the design documentation.

very cool MetMan - timely for me as I am just venturing into 'pop-off' boosters. (see my Ariane 5 post elsewhere in scratchbuilt)

May I ask how you rigged the boosters to drop off?
