I did the same as you purchased a 24" main tube to make it a standard DD and have never used it. Jolly logic came out and that is what I use. Flew it last weekend on a DMS I500 to 2600'

Any idea what your weight was single deploy with the J/L and the I500 ????

The weight flight ready was 7.5 pounds. I seem always build on the heavy side. The I500 is a great motor. For what ever reason I seem to be able to follow a short burn low smoke motor than one with a good smoke trail. I guess I watch the smoke and not the rocket. Just make sure the band on the JLCR fits tight around the chute. Last weekend I flew my Warlock with a 50" chute I added another band thinking I needed more band length. Well at apogee the chute deployed my fault. I should have just used 1 large band.

Been a bit - somehow other projects keep popping up . I managed to get the rail buttons on , the av bay completed with a new RRC3 and started on the recovery rigging. Ordered a chute yesterday and once it arrives - it will be down to a few little odds and ends and ready to fly . Oh yeah , and that pesky L-2 paper test ;)

I passed my L-2 written test Monday , and ordered the motor promptly there after -
The plan is to get my cert flight out of the way at TTRA Tampa's 2day launch mid March.
Going to fly a 3 gr CTI -J/360 - D/D on an RRC3 - with a 60inch Rocketman chute.

Thanks Fred - rockets all prepped , just load charges and motor and push the button now,
weather dependent of course...

Andy,
The Rogue turned out really nice, would have liked to see it fly on the two day launch.
I just just finished a 4" fiberglass Madcow Super DX3 that I was going to maiden at that launch.
I was going to take my written L2 test that weekend too.
Hope to see you at the next launch, whenever that is.
Maybe I'll build another rocket between now and then.
Looking at a couple of Madcow and Mach 1 kits.

Brian

Looks GREAT Brian - hope to see ya when we can fly again , I got the nut job by usps today , had lots planned , grrrrrrr....

So even tho I posted it elsewhere , I figured this thread needed and end to the story ;)
Got to finally fly the stretched MadCow Rogue 4 at TTRA Tampa last weekend , perfect flight in a pretty steady breeze to 2841ft on a CTI J360SM - Flew drougeless D/D with a MissleWorks RRC3 -Drouge @ apogee and Main @500ft. on a Rocketman 60inch chute.
Flight was perfect with slight weather cock due to the breeze but landed in the main field.
Reloaded the charges and flew it a 2nd time on a 3gr 54mm Gorilla DeepSix load with very consistent results, 2781ft and 10ft from the pad
All in all - VERY satisfied with the rocket and cant wait to fly it on a 4grain Gorilla next. Should push 4500ft.
Compared to the Roc sim file I built , it came within 50ft of every sim I ran :headspinning:
