I could not resist the LOC 2.6" Patriot deal that recently came out from BuyRocketMotors.com, and I know most of you know the excitement when a new rocket graces your address. So, imagine that sweet moment and then this reality:

Yup, USPS had done a number on this poor rocket. Pictures don't do it justice, but someone flattened that box somewhere in shipping. The rocket kit looked so sad, sitting there all pathetic.

I am not going to save those airframe tubes, but I am flying that rocket, darn it! BuyRocketMotors.com responded immediately and was more than willing to make things right. I had already filed a USPS claim, so there wasn't anything he could do (but I appreciate his willingness to make it right)...so an email to LOC was next.

Used the "Contact Me" part of the LOC website asking to just purchase the Patriot airframe tubes, and Jason asked for pictures. Since this is the opposite of rocket porn, I hesitated, but sent anyway. His response? A shipping label within an hour!

With customer service like this, I will buy again and again from both vendors (LOC & BuyRocketMotors.com)--highly recommended!

'Course, I did just get some cool accessories for that Patriot, like Z-clip motor retention and the LOC Baffle system. Love those baffle systems & the removable nose weight system. Lookin hard at a 5.5" Magnum too. LOCs got the Rocketry Mojo goin on.

LOC customer service is always responsive when ever I had a question. I haven’t ever had a complaint. Sticker shock makes a nice wrap for it. This is my 2.6” Patriot on a G53 at Red Glare. 1432EFF0-591F-40D6-841C-5582E9C91C8C.jpeg

Just another thanks to BuyRocketMotors for the J250W DMS for my L2 project.

Very nicely done! Did you add any nose weight for G motors?
I did add 3oz nose weight. The sim file loc distributed had some errors (or maybe the kit has changed). It listed 6 oz nose weight in the file but instructions made no mention of nose weight. Already over the listed weight I opted for 3oz. Sims about 800 ft with Aerotech f23fj, and very stable. I am currently trying to find a place to fly it. No luck in NH.
Anyway didnt mean to hijack the thread. Buyrocketmotors was great for my first purchase incl rocket and motors. Will buy from again.

I don't have a chance to visit this forum as often as I like so just now coming across this... Thank you very much everyone for the kind words :).

Always great to hear. Jay and Dave are awesome people! I’m proud to be standing here at LDRS with them!

I'm lucky enough to work about 15 min from LOC's factory/warehouse. One day, a rocket minded friend and I drove to their address and just knocked on the door. Mind you, they don't have a store front, so it's just a door on the side of an industrial looking building. They let us in, wandered around a bit, and talked with us. Seemed like great guys. Two weeks later, they were at Rockets for Schools in Sheboygan, WI, volunteering time to get middle schoolers and high schoolers exposed to HPR. They get my vote!

I got into HPR a couple of years ago and can say that both LOC and BuyRocketMotors.com are great companies/great people to work with. Both have helped me with newbie questions and my orders always arrive propmtly. They will continue to get my business.

I suppose this is as good a place as any to chime in and say "+1". I have to say LOC has been just outstanding with their customer service. I had an issue with one of their rockets and it took them less than 30 minutes from when I contacted them to getting a shipping number with the right bits in the box!!

Things can go wrong. The box can get crushed in shipping, a part can be missed, etc. What counts is how they deal with the issue and in my experience LOC is just fantastic in that regard. I'll keep purchasing LOC products not just because I really like the rockets, but also because they are just a great company that deserves the business.

LOC customer service is some of the best in the industry

Agreed. EVERY time I've ever had to deal with LOC, they are quick to reply, easy to work with, very helpful and knowledgeable, and just great to deal with. You can't go wrong with LOC.

I am very impressed with the GREAT customer service. Not only did they quickly and completely answer my questions they helped me with some parts I had lost. What GREAT customer service.
Agreed. They kindly helped me out with a shipping mix up (my fault) last year, and they just gave me a new decal for my micro magg after the original one got torn. Generous and efficient customer service. I got their 4 inch Goblin for Christmas, and l’ll be asking Santa for a Warlock this year. 😀
